We are very busy holidaying! We’re staying in a cool little Finnish house, all made of wood, to Hannah’s surprise, with rooms for all of us and a superduper veranda with a view on the playground. This means the kids can run riot while mummy and daddy sit on the porch with their legs up and a glass of beer/vino. That’s the life! Hannah has already made a friend, Louise, 6, and Sam is running around chasing Louise’s twin sisters, who are nearly 3. His flirting tactics (hitting them on the head with sticks and throwing sand at them) have not yet paid off, even though Olivia has been sliding with him… Our little Don Juan. Pictures of our house next time, we haven’t made any nice ones yet…
Sam, Hannah and the birthday boy Jasper (now 2)
We started off easy this weekend, driving around the country a bit on Saturday (it was raining) and yesterday we went to see Amy’s friend Daniella, who lives in Almelo, not far from where we’re staying. Today we went to the swimming pool a bit further down the road, and after a few minutes running around a freezing outdoor pool, went inside, and had a lot of fun in the deep pool, where Hannah enjoyed the big slide (and Sam was very angry at not having a second go after hitting his head on it, ouch… tough kid…). Afterwards we had a nice lunch in town, with lots of antics. After a quick trip to the tourist office, it was back home for some R&R…

Oh no, Amy knitting in the pool?

Big chair or small kids?
What Sam usually looks after an outing, in the car on the way home…
No more Dutch players in the EC… But the boys did us proud! Thanks for some great games, cu again in 2 years’ time!! (An England-The Netherlands final would be nice…)
Hannah’s been going to swimming lessons for a few years now & she’s been doing really well. She’s getting stronger, can swim further & is learning lots of new strokes like the butterfly, front crawl & back stroke. Both Ammerins & Steve are very proud of her & all her hard work.
As you can see, a new site, a new home. We were having a few problems with phishers on our old site, and because there was no good way to sort this problem… we had no choice but to move.
We are still getting to grips with it, so bear with us for the coming time, until we find out what style we like most! But here a few piccies to get us of to a good start: our allotment!
Our fruit section. It has now been netted, because the first strawberries had fallen victims to an attack by a non-human fruit lover.
And our lettuces. Amazing how a few limp leaves are turning into crops so fast!
And this is courgette number 1 of three. Yes, they are flowering and thriving!
More pictures soon, just a cool one of Sam and his motor seesaw in the playground next to our house:
