Awarding good behaviour

Hannah has had a behaviour chart on the wall, as she was being slightly ‘volatile’ lately. After 3 weeks of many good days, and only a few bad ones, she earned herself this:

So, this Sunday, coming to a cinema near us: Hannah!!! (and her mommy, it’s a PG movie after all… haha)

Next week a new chart will go up (cause rewarding does work well with Hannah), and her next target is… a hoolahoop (pink with loads of sparklies…)

What they see, they do

pooSam sees me empty and flush the potty in the sink every night after he has done his pre-bed pee. So, what does he do when he is in his room for his afternoon nap and does a poo? He gets his toy box, climbs on it with the potty and very neatly deposits his faeces in the sink. :)
Luckily we heard him pottering about and cleaned up after him straight away…

But… Sam is potty trained, fully! He only has the odd accident at night, and had to wear a nappy at daycare because the toilets were too far away (normal situation will be restored from next week, hooray), but our little scitter has been nappy free for some time. Even though it did take a bit longer than Amy had anticipated, who firmly believed in the infant potty training thing, it’s still a huge achievement for such a wee man… Big round of applause!

Garden life

With the gorgeous weather we’ve been enjoying the last week or so, we’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors. Working and playing, eating and relaxing, and trying to make the place look nice. Sam and Hannah love racing around on their skeelers and roller skates, Amy is digging away in the allotment and in the back garden here, and Steve is pruning like a mofo. ;) Here’s a few piccies of what it’s like now. Those two critters are Kaatje and Bridget (the brown bunny venturing outside). They got a new space in the garden, which means we have more space for wining and dining. And yes, we had our own Easter bonfire, small but great!

5 more lessons???

The road from A to B can be long, but when it comes to swimming, it can go really quickly. Hannah is going like a rocket, jumping in as straight as a pencil, diving through the hole at 6m and swimming as neat as can be. The next date for the B diploma is May 14, and we are confident that she’s going to make it!

Un garcon avec moustache

dsc01835Now, Steve can grow a neat moustache, and if I’m down and he wants to chear me up, he shaves his beard and leaves the bit of fluff under his nose… Gets me every time :)
But this guy beats his daddy by far… A nice choccie tash! I can just see him in 14 years time with a real one :)

Only room for one redhead in the family…

As we recently welcomed a new addition to the family, Amy decided to dye her hair blond. No pictures of the hair, but here’s the new addition… Say hi to Rosaline!
Rosaline
She’s just too cute…
